Growing up, I spent a lot of time waiting. I walked through life with a fear of failure and of not being perfect. I would stand on the sidewalk, fully suited up in my rain gear, looking at the puddles in front of me. I wouldn’t jump. I often looked longingly at my sister who jumped into situations with her whole spirit and didn’t quite understand where I differed. I was worried they were too muddy, too small, or just not 'right.' I realized I was paralyzed by a need for perfection.

It took me a long time to realize the truth:
The perfect puddle is the one you jump into with joy.

This studio is my daily practice of jumping in. It is my rejection of the fear of failure. I create these pieces to share what I believe is true, good, and beautiful—knowing they will never be flawless, but hoping they bring you the same joy I felt making them. But also knowing the closest we can come to perfection is living life with joy.
